Instructor Sashrika

Sashrika Das

Sophomore at East Lyme High School

I've been building award-winning technology projects since middle school — a Grand Prize win at Hackster's Future of Resilience Contest, a 3M Young Scientist Challenge Connecticut Merit Award, a CSEF Computer Science Finalist finish, and a Smart Harvesting project that Seeed Studio turned into a commercial product kit sold worldwide. My Gas Leak Detection project is on permanent display at the Young V&A Museum in London. I was invited to speak at TinyML Talks at 13, and my work has been featured in Hello World Magazine. I don't teach from a textbook — I teach from what I've actually built, debugged, and shipped.

What I bring to these courses is the perspective of someone who learned all of this recently. I remember every moment of confusion — and every breakthrough. My classes are small (never more than 8 students) and student-led, so every child gets direct attention, room to experiment, and a safe space to take creative risks. My students won't just learn Python or AI — they'll learn to think like builders.

I believe every kid deserves a teacher who is genuinely excited about what they're teaching — and I feel that coding is the closest thing we have to a superpower.
